The programme of vaccination has commenced, with those who will be administering the vaccines getting the vaccine first, followed by high-risk groups. Current vaccines require two doses between 21-28 days apart.

All therapists must maintain their strict Covid-19 protocols even if their patient has been vaccinated. The patient and therapist should continue to wear a face-covering for their treatments, with ample room ventilation, and continued cleaning between patients.

The site of the injection is a local contraindication, and so should not be massaged over for at least 48 hours. Patients who have received the vaccine may feel slightly unwell after the vaccination. Some people have reported high temperatures for a few days.

A suggestion is that patients refrain from treatment for between 5-7 days post-vaccination just in case they do feel unwell where treatment would then be counter-productive.
