Musculoskeletal Anatomy Course

This course is for anyone wishing to learn the fundamentals of the Musculo-Skeletal systems and functional anatomy. The course starts with attending 2 days of practical training that includes a varied approach of manual and observational learning that will combine to improve your understanding of anatomy. After the practical training, you will be able to reinforce your knowledge with our online resources to continue your development. This course is suitable for sports-care practitioners, sports massage students, personal trainers, runners, etc, and may be attended before, alongside, or after other courses such as our Level 3 Sports Massage.

Aims

You will be shown the 206 bones that make up the skeletal system, how muscles and bones develop, repair, and function together to bring about stability and locomotion. We will explain the divisions of the skeletal system, categories of bones, types of joints and the muscles and tendons that support them. Study notes, diagrams and practical exercises during the training will help you learn 45 of the main muscles in the human body, discover how they contract, where they attach, how to palpate them, what actions they bring about, and how to stretch them. We will also discuss exercises that focus on key muscle groups giving you a sound understanding of functional anatomy of the musculoskeletal systems.

Entry Requirements

This 2 day course will be an ideal adjunct to any Level 3 course including Sports Massage, Taping for Sport and more. You must be physically able to do the work and be at least 18 years old.

Course Fees

The fee is £180 including V.A.T. at the current rate is payable upon application, and you may claim 16 credits for Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

You may attend this course as a valuable addition to Sports Massage and a range of other courses including Gait Analysis and Taping for Sport with Sports Therapy UK, plus external courses such as Gym Instruction and Personal Training.

If you enrol on this 2 day course in conjunction with our Level 3 Sports Massage Course, you will be eligible for a 25% discount reducing the total fee to £135. To take advantage of this discount, you must simply enrol on this course at the lower fee, within 72 hours of enrolling on your Level 3 Sports Massage course.
