Management of Sports Injuries using an evidence based approach

£85.00 inclusive lunch & refreshments

Rationale: Participation in sports activities, either for recreational or competitive reasons is growing at an ever increasing rate. Consequently, the incidence of sports injuries and the demand for effective treatment grows accordingly. Many amateur athletes provoke their injuries unnecessarily, thus prolonging the natural healing period. This workshop investigates the critical role of educating the athlete – to minimise disruptive actions.

Aim: Using a ‘model’ Case-Study of applied evidence-based-practice (EBP), this course is designed to investigate the entire Sports Injury Management process – from initial injury through to return to full competition. This approach will adopt contemporary research and include; patient assessment, clinical SWOT analysis, clinical reasoning, base-line measurements, ongoing assessment, patient education, evaluation-based progression criteria, all embraced in the scientific principles underlying phases of tissue healing.

Suitability:  All forms of therapists / practitioners involved in the treatment of sports injuries (from amateur to elite level); especially those seeking an EBP approach.  We use a simple, systematic and logical approach to treatment of injury and the delivery of our course content.
